Greenline Honey is a rooftop micro-apiary situated at Geary Avenue and Dufferin Street. Focused on small-batch, raw, unpasteurized honey production and honey-infused products, Greenline Honey showcases the diverse plant life Toronto has to offer.
The Greenline Bees forage within a 5 km radius of their home, relying on the health and abundance of plant life in yards, backyards, parks and pockets of green space surrounding their hives (which includes the beloved Green Line Trail).
From Greenline: “The bees remind us of the collaboration, regeneration, and balance found in the natural world. They inspire us everyday, and we want to pass that inspiration along to our friends and neighbors.”
- To produce a single pound of honey, it requires 550+ bees who collectively gather nectar from approximately 2 million flowers.
- The average worker bee makes just 1/12th of a teaspoon of honey in her lifetime.
- The Greenline honey bees travel up to 5km from their hive to find nectar to bring back to their hive.
Limited quantities available in small, medium and large pots (of love).
