Small iridized Nassau vase by Sirius Glassworks. An iridescent sheen with dancing flecks and smears of color. A beauty.

'The original multi-colour Nassau vase. These pieces vary wildly and each one is a pleasure to gaze at. The decoration can range the full spectrum of opaque and transparent colours, earth tones, jewel tones, primary colour blocks, sparkly bits and mood ring areas, dots, lines and squiggles. Made by rolling random handfuls of re-purposed and recycled colourful bits onto molten glass, that is fused and formed into a vase, then iridized. Each vase is entirely unique."

About Sirius:

Peter Gudrunas works in an ancient art, forming contemporary glass vessels. At his studio near the shores of Lake Erie, he begins with raw materials such as powdered quartz and limestone- measures, mixes and refines them in a furnace at temperatures in excess of 2400 degrees. One of the few glassblowers in North America to still make the majority of his glass from scratch (and working from an old handwritten recipe book) much of Peter's glass colours are unique to his practice, each piece is subtly different from the next.
